According to Marinković, the top 15 spots are exclusively occupied by AMD's Ryzen CPUs, with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D taking the lead and the Ryzen 5 5500 in second place due to its DDR4 compatibility. This achievement highlights AMD's strong consumer demand and market dominance, as Intel's best performer ranks 17th.
This isn't the first time AMD has dominated Amazon's best-seller list. During the Zen 2 era, AMD's CPUs regularly took over the top five spots. More recently, the top 10 spots have been consistently held by various Ryzen CPUs, both new and old. The current lead is even more impressive, with the top 16 places occupied by Zen 3, Zen 4, and Zen 5 parts, the only exception being a Thermal Grizzly AM5 contact frame. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is in first place, while the Ryzen 5 5500, with its DDR4 compatibility, takes second.
The Ryzen 5 9600X, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 7 5800XT, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, Ryzen 9 5900XT, Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 5 5600, and Ryzen 7 7700X occupy positions three through ten. The new Ryzen 7 9850X3D, a faster version of the 9800X3D, sits in 16th place despite being $40 more expensive. In contrast, Intel's Core i5-14600K ranks 17th, and the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus was the highest-ranking Intel CPU on Amazon's list just two days ago. Interestingly, Intel's more expensive parts, like the Ultra 7 270K Plus and Ultra 9 285K, are more popular. This suggests that budget-minded buyers are opting for AMD or older Intel options due to the memory shortage, while premium CPU buyers are favoring Intel's Arrow Lake.
While Amazon's best-seller list isn't a perfect indicator of consumer demand, it provides valuable insights into consumer preferences.
